How to find the procedure that is right for you
There is no way to truly describe how important the face is. The face is the first thing people see when they meet another person—it is the gateway that communicates even the tiniest of emotions and in many ways it is the thing we use to identify ourselves. The face is so important, that many people go through painstaking routines in order to keep their face as youthful looking as possible. Exercise, diet and lifestyle choices play a large role in how the face looks where skin, wrinkles and other signs of aging are concerned, but for some people, exercise, diet and lifestyle choices can only do so much. For some people, facial surgery procedures may be a thing to consider when all else fails. There are numerous types of facial plastic surgery, and depending on what a person wants done, there are many options for each kind of procedure.
Why Consider Facial Plastic Surgery
The reasons why a person would get facial plastic surgery can be simply cosmetic (getting rid of wrinkles, lines and creases due to aging, getting rid of a birthmark, reshaping the nose, cheek or chin to create a more appealing look, etc.) or for medical reasons (vision impairment due to sagging eyelids, getting rid of burn and scar tissue from an accident, etc.) The reasons for considering facial plastic surgery entirely depend on the individual and their medical, psychological and cosmetic wants and needs.
The Different Types of Facial Plastic Surgery
• Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty: This procedure focuses on the nose. Cartilage and bone can be restructured in order to change the shape and contour of the nose, both internally (septoplasty) and externally (rhinoplasty.)
• Blepharoplasty: The eyelids can be adjusted in order to correct vision impairment problems and cosmetic issues related to drooping and sagging eyelids. Fatty tissue is taken away and the area around the eyelids is tightened in order to give a more youthful appearance.
• Rhytidectomy: This procedure is the tightening of the skin on the face and neck, which results in the reduction of wrinkles and creases.
• Brow Lift: Forehead wrinkles and droopy eyebrows are very common signs of aging. A brow lift is typically performed in order to get rid of those pesky forehead wrinkles and droopy brows.
• Liposuction: As many people know, the fatty tissue under the chin and near the neck is some of the most stubborn fat to get rid of through diet and exercise. When all else fails, having liposuction performed on the problematic areas may be the best and most effective option.
• Skin Surface Treatments: There are numerous options when it comes to procedures that improve the surface of the skin. Chemical peels can be performed in order to make the skin smoother and reduce wrinkles, as well as laser treatments and dermabrasion treatments. Some procedures last longer than others, and the costs may vary, so it is recommended that a person review all options at their disposal before committing to one over the others.
